Our family package includes a broad range of services for pregnancy and ideal child development right from birth. These include the provision of free folic acid supplements during pregnancy and additional preventative check-ups for the little ones. Digital midwife consultations are also included, as is the option for one parent to stay at the hospital free of charge when their child is admitted.
Attention, parents: as part of the BKK Starke Kids scheme, your child can receive an additional check-up as a baby, two screenings for ambylopia (‘lazy eye’), primary school check-ups I and II, adolescent check-up II and one screening for depression (age 11 – 17).

FAQ - The most frequently asked questions about health insurance and non-contributory family insurance
Free family insurance with Audi BKK is possible for your spouse (or civil partner under the LPartG), your children and the children of your family-insured children.
The prerequisite is that they live in Germany and do not have a total income of their own that exceeds EUR 505 (as of 2024) per month and that they do not have their own insurance cover - for mini-jobbers, the income limit is instead the applicable mini-job limit.
Children also include stepchildren and grandchildren who you have taken into your household or who are mainly supported by you, as well as foster children if they are connected to a long-term foster relationship with a domestic community like children with parents.
The non-contributory family insurance for children ends by law when they reach the age of 18. If children are not gainfully employed, they are entitled to family insurance up to the age of 23. If they are in school or vocational training or are doing a voluntary social or ecological year without pay, up to the age of 25 (exception: your children are insured themselves through the employer of a company training program). After the age of 25, the entitlement to family insurance is extended by the period by which school or vocational training was interrupted or delayed by a statutory service obligation or various voluntary services. If this is the case for you, we will be happy to advise you. Children are insured free of charge in our health insurance fund without age limit if they are unable to support themselves due to a disability and the disability existed at a time when the child was insured according to the above criteria.
You can apply for family insurance by simply completing the questionnaire for admission to family insurance and sending it back to us. A few days after we have received and checked your documents, we will send you the health card for your family members and welcome them to our family insurance.
